Join the newest recreational gymnastics club in Tadcaster and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to coaching and developing gymnastic abilities across all age groups. At 2PRU Gymnastics Club, we take pride in nurturing talent and promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle through gymnastics. We are currently seeking passionate and experienced coaches to join our team and contribute to the growth of our club.

 

Display Team Gymnastics Coach

Part Time - 8-16 Hours - 5 Days Per Week Including Sunday - £8-16ph

​

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with fellow coaches to deliver engaging and inclusive gymnastics classes to members of all ages.

  • Coach and progress multiple groups of 8 children across various gymnastics apparatus, with a primary focus on recreational gymnastics while incorporating elements of freestyle, acro, and display.

  • Confident with various class control methods to use with a range of age groups.

  • Capable of following a plan and adapting activities based on personal expertise and the needs of the gymnasts.

  • Inspire a love for gymnastics and encourage a balanced and healthy active lifestyle among all gymnasts.

  • Ability to identify and minimise risks associated with gymnastics training.

  • Explore optional opportunities to work in the wider community, including delivering gymnastics sessions at local schools.

  • Contribute to the development of our coaching syllabus and participate in coaching workshops to enhance teaching methods.

 

Personality Traits:​

  • Openness to receiving both positive and constructive feedback on coaching techniques with a willingness to seek help or guidance from other coaches when needed.

  • Skilled in building an individual rapport with each gymnast while fostering a sense of group unity.

  • Patience and understanding when working with children who may progress at different rates.

  • Exhibit responsibility, resilience, and reflection in coaching approaches.

  • Effective communication skills using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods.

  • Strong teamwork skills, including communication, active listening, and collaboration with fellow coaches.

  • Self-motivation, proactivity, punctuality, and excellent time management.

  • Consistent use of appropriate positioning during coaching sessions, avoiding sitting, leaning, standing still or turning your back to children.

  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation, sharing concerns and ideas with lead coaches and actively participating in workshops.

  • Confidence in leading tasks, delegating responsibilities, and effectively communicating with parents and staff members.

  • Adaptability to working with both limited and extended time frames.

 

Essential Qualifications for Paid Roles:

  • Recognised Level 1 qualification in Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), or General Gymnastics (GG).

  • Provide an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check upon our request. Upon successful application to a paid coaching role the cost of the enhanced DBS will be reimbursed.

  • Hold an active recognisable "Safeguarding and Welfare" qualification or be enrolled onto a recognisable safeguarding and welfare course.

 

Desirable Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Recognised Level 2 or higher qualification in WAG, MAG, or GG.

  • Additional gymnastics coaching qualifications, such as pre-school, freestyle, acro, etc.

  • Background as a gymnast.

  • Previous coaching experience.

  • Prior experience working with children.

  • Basic first aid trained.

  • Any other recognisable relevant qualifications eg: "Time To Listen" 

 

We also offer voluntary/training positions where you can learn how to coach. You will be closely mentored and once we feel you are ready, we will provide the opportunity for you to become qualified by enrolling you onto a coaching course.
