Secondary School KS3

Class For Ages 11-14

At this stage, gymnasts may have preferences for certain apparatus while finding others more challenging. Through teaching the importance of skill transfer, our coaching team helps your child apply strengths from one apparatus to areas of weakness on others. This holistic approach fosters a well-rounded skill set and boosts your child’s confidence across all apparatus.

As our coaching team continues to build strong relationships with your child, we tailor our sessions to meet their individual and group needs. This personalised approach motivates, supports, and guides each gymnast based on their preferred learning style.

As our gymnasts form and strengthen their friendships, we emphasise the value of sportsmanship. This teaches your child to demonstrate camaraderie and mutual respect towards their peers, both of which are essential for personal growth and team morale.

We also offer an invitation-only advanced session for this age group. Selection for this session is based on gymnastics ability and overall non- gymnastics excellence. Head coaches will make contact with you if your child is suitable for these sessions.

Session Length: 1 hour.

Session Price: £50 per month.

Secondary School KS4

Class For Ages 14-16

At this stage, our gymnasts focus on mastering the most advanced skills in our recreational programme by building on their prior knowledge and experience. The goal is to perfect existing techniques, link multiple skills into one fluid sequence and experiment with skill variations to create personalised aesthetics.

We encourage all our gymnasts to take full ownership of their sessions by sharing their individual and group interests with the coaching team. This can occasionally allow the coaching team to design and deliver customised lesson plans based on the group's interests.

Our coaching team continues to develop the triad of social, physical, and cognitive growth resulting in your child becoming a well-rounded athlete and young adult. As one of the oldest members in our club, your child has the opportunity to lead by example and serve as a role model for younger gymnasts, peers, coaches, and even parents.

Regardless of prior experience, we welcome new gymnasts at this level and our coaching team ensures steady progress and skill development is maintained. As gymnastics supports overall health, our sport can contribute to extracurricular activities or the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme.

For those not ready to stop training at 16, we offer adult gymnastics sessions. In these sessions your child can take full responsibility for their training during both the coach-led and independent components to plan and customise their own sessions.

If your child wishes to step away from performing but remain involved within gymnastics, they can apply to become a voluntary youth leader, with exceptional youth leaders potentially being offered paid coaching roles.

Session Length: 1 hour.
