2PRU Gymnastics Club
Anti Bullying Policy
Last Updated: 01/07/2023
At 2PRU Gymnastics Club, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all members involved in our community. We firmly believe in promoting equality and condemn any form of bullying. This policy outlines our approach to tackling bullying and fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere within our club.
We are dedicated to treating all individuals fairly and equally, regardless of an individual’s disability, gender, race, religion and belief, transgender identity and sexual orientation. Discrimination in any form is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
We define bullying as any deliberate, hurtful, and aggressive behaviour aimed at causing distress, fear, or harm to another individual. It can take various forms, including physical, verbal, social, sexual, or cyberbullying, and can occur directly to someone's face or indirectly behind their back.
Our anti-bullying policy applies to all individuals associated with our club, including gymnasts, parents, visitors, coaches, and other staff members.
Bullying can manifest in different ways within our club, such as teasing, spreading rumours, excluding individuals, making derogatory remarks, and engaging in any behaviour that undermines or humiliates others.
Reporting Bullying: If any member feels they are being bullied, they must report the incident to a coach immediately. Coaches are required to escalate the matter to the club's management promptly. We assure all victims that their concerns will be taken seriously, kept confidential, and addressed appropriately.
Reporting on Behalf of Someone Else: If any individual observes bullying happening to someone else, they should promptly report it to a coach or club management.
Consequences for Bullying: Bullying incidents will be treated seriously and may result in a three-strike system, where the bully will face appropriate consequences, which may include warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the club.
Involving Parents: When bullying incidents occur, we will involve the parents or guardians of both the victim and the bully to address the issue collectively and find the most effective resolution.
Collaboration with Schools: In cases where bullying involves individuals who attend the same school, we will often collaborate with the school authorities in a respectful and informative manner. This joint effort aims to address and prevent bullying behaviours effectively.
Promoting a Safe Environment: To foster an anti-bullying culture, we will conduct regular educational sessions and discussions about bullying, its consequences, and the importance of treating one another with respect and kindness.
Review and Revision: This anti-bullying policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Any necessary updates will be made to address emerging concerns and maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
At 2PRU Gymnastics Club, we stand united against bullying and pledge to provide a secure space where everyone can enjoy the benefits of gymnastics without fear of harassment or harm.
